What is a Playroom?

A playroom is a room specially designed for your child to participate in play therapy.  Toys are selected and strategically placed in the playroom to allow your child to express and work through feelings during sessions.  The play room is designed to be a safe and friendly environment that allows your child to be open and creative

As a parent, you play a critical role in preparing your child for going to the playroom.  Prior to the first session, you can let your child know that you will be going to a playroom, where your child can talk and play about his/her feelings. During the first session, you will be encouraged to walk your child to the playroom and take a brief tour of the room prior to the beginning of the session.
